There are regular flights from the UK to various airports in central Italy. Ryanair operates several routes from London Stansted and Manchester to destinations such as Ancona, Bologna, Pescara, Perugia, Pisa, and Rome. British Airways and easyJet also offer flights to Bologna and Rome from several major UK airports.
Ancona airport is centrally located in Le Marche, about 100 km from most of our holiday homes. Another good option is Pescara airport in the Abruzzo region, roughly 120 km away.

Renting a car in Italy is easy to arrange online. Simply search for ‘car rental Italy’ and you’ll find many providers. We recommend Skyscanner: it compares offers from different rental companies, and you can book directly. Many airlines also offer car rental options through their websites.
Renting a car doesn’t have to be expensive – especially compared to driving all the way yourself and possibly staying overnight en route. When booking, make sure everything important is included: airport fees, comprehensive liability insurance that also covers damage to the roof, tyres, underbody and windows, and full reimbursement of the deductible. Also check the fuel policy – some companies charge high fees for a full tank. We recommend choosing the ‘full-to-full’ option to avoid surprises. And sometimes, a more luxurious car may actually be cheaper in the end.
That way, you can explore Italy with total peace of mind – enjoying every moment without unexpected costs.
